Dr. Robert D. Moore is an internationally recognized Laparoscopic/Vaginal Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon who has operated on patients from all over the US and the world. He is widely known throughout the world for his pioneering techniques in minimally invasive vaginal reconstructive surgery and more recently in the field of Sexual Medicine and Aesthetic Vaginal Surgery as well as Regenerative Medicine. He has received prominent awards in his field including being named to Castle Connolly “Top Doctor Award” for 14 years running, Americas Best Doctors List since 2011 and Consumers Research Council Americas Top Ob/Gyn list (for Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery) for 10 consecutive years. He has also won numerous awards for his work in Cosmetic Vaginal Surgery. Dr Moore and his partner are considered two of the forefathers of Aesthetic Vaginal Surgery as they were two of the first surgeons in this field, helped develop many of the techniques still used today and published the first research articles in the field of Vaginal Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Gyn Surgery.

Dr. Moore originally received his medical degree with top honors from the University of New England in 1994. While at the University he was involved with neurologic and neuroscience pain research, receiving multiple grants and publishing in this complex field. He completed his residency in Ob/Gyn at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME and then completed a two-year fellowship in Urogynecology and Radical Pelvic Surgery at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Following this, he completed another year of advanced training in Laparoscopic Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. He has also completed advanced training in the field of Aesthetic Vaginal Surgery and co-authored, with his partner, Dr. John Miklos, the first comprehensive book on Vaginal Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Surgery for women as well as the FIRST chapter ever published in a major medical textbook on Vaginal Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Subsequently, he has also published the FIRST cosmetic vaginal surgery chapter in THREE major Urogynecology and Female Urology textbooks. He was the FIRST co-chair of the International Urogynecology Association’s SIG of Cosmetic Vaginal Surgery. He currently has over 20 years of experience in the field of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Vaginal Surgery and is considered one of the world’s premier experts in the field. He was one of the first Board Certified Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgeons (Urogynecology) in the U.S.

Dr. Moore is currently the Director of Advanced Pelvic Surgery and the Co-Director of Urogynecology and Reconstructive and Cosmetic Vaginal Surgery at Miklos and Moore Urogynecology and Beverly Hills Urogynecology. He is the Director of Aesthetic Gynecology and Regenerative Medicine at Hobbs Clinic in Dubai. Dr. Moore has held and continues to maintain national and international teaching appointments. He was a Professor of Ob/Gyn and Urogynecology at Emory University for many years and still maintains teaching appointments at major Medical Universities. He has partnered, published and completed research with prominent investigators and surgeons from centers such as Harvard University, the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and University of Rome, University of Capetown in S. Africa and others.

Dr. Moore continues to be very active in clinical research and new innovations in the field of Urogynecology including mesh technology and minimally invasive techniques to treat prolapse and incontinence. He and his partner Dr. John Miklos published the largest series in the world on Laparoscopic Sacralcolpopexy and surgeons from throughout the world come to Atlanta to learn this technique from them at their center. In 2009, Dr. Moore was the first surgeon in the U.S. to perform the Anterior Elevate procedure and has travelled the globe operating and teaching this new technology that he helped develop. He was also the Principal Investigator in the U.S. in the Multicenter Trial evaluating the long-term results of mesh repair for cystocele and was picked to lead this team of investigators from 10 centers in the United States including gynecologists, urologists and urogynecologists. He also, along w/ Dr Miklos, has led the country and the world in identifying and treating complex mesh complications and they have published the largest series in the world (alongside Cleveland Clinic and Emory University) on the treatment of mesh complications.

Dr. Moore was one of the first surgeons to bring the TOT sling to the U.S. and was also the Co-Principal investigator, with Professor Jaquetin from France, of the AMS Monarc TOT sling worldwide trial leading more than 20 centers across the world. Dr. Moore then was the principal investigator of the first multicenter trial in the world to evaluate the Mini-Arc Mini-Sling and is considered a worldwide leader in this minimally invasive sling procedure that he helped develop to reduce complications seen w/ the TOT and TVT mesh tape slings. He has published more than 100 scientific journal articles, book chapters and research abstracts. He was the chairman of the IUGA Post-Graduate course on Vaginal Mesh procedures in Italy and published one of the largest reviews on the topic in the Scientific World Journal. Dr. Moore has traveled throughout the United States and Internationallyk and has taught over 500 surgeons new techniques in Urogynecology and Aesthetic Vaginal surgery at Universities and Major Hospitals in every major city in the US. Over 1000 surgeons from all over the US and the world have travelled to Atlanta to observe and learn from him and his partner Dr. John Miklos in their operating room. He has traveled to and been invited to lecture/operate/teach in Finland, Norway, Hungary, India, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Turkey, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Russia, Taiwan, Poland and Australia, England and India. In 2023 he did a European tour and taught Aesthetic Gyn procedures in Spain, England and France. He is a regular featured speaker of the European Society of Aesthetic Gynecology and the International Society of Cosmetic Gynecology.

Dr. Moore is board certified in Urogynecology (FPMRS) and Obstetrics/Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG) as well as the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and International College of Surgeons (FICS). He has been member of the American Association of Gyn Laparoscopists, American Urogynecology Society, International Urogynecology Association, and the American Urologic Association and a Fellow of the The Royal Society of Medicine, London, England. He is also the Executive Editor-in-Chief of the Online Journal of Urology. He has published in numerous Journals including Journal of Sexual Medicine, International Urogynecology Journal, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Brain Research and many other prominent journals.
